Pregnancy Back Pain can be Normal, or Non-pregnancy Related

When the baby being carried is growing, it can often throw off the center of gravity and the heavy uterus can being to pull on the lower back and hips. This can lead to spine curvature and significant discomfort. Women in advanced pregnancy can often be seen walking with their hands on their hips because of this problem. In these cases, nothing much can be done to relieve the pain and you have to take rest for some relief. However, if a woman finds that even as early as the second trimester of the pregnancy she is unable to walk owing to back pain, the problem can be something else. The body of a pregnant woman produces a hormone that relaxes the joints so that the pelvis spreads a little and eases the pain and lessens damage. If this hormone is produced is too great quantity, joints can spread so much that the spine and pelvic joints go out of place. In this last case, help is available to ease the pain. A chiropractor can line your spine back up and make sure your joints are in place. Even a single visit can produce some relief even though you might have to see them a few times. Some special equipment, like a table with a removable section to accommodate your belly when you lie face down, and specialized training, are necessary. If you come across such a person, keep their phone number handy. You might need that person?s services before you are through the pregnancy. If you are experiencing a throbbing pain in the lower back, a pain that comes from nowhere and does not seem to let up, the problem might not be with your joints. It could indicate pre-term labor, particularly if it is accompanies by spotting and contractions. Call your doctor immediately. The doctor will confirm wither it is premature labor or some other complication. Pregnancy is never easy; even though some women seem to breeze through it without problems. If you are not that lucky, the hints and suggestions above should see you through without undue complications. At least, you will know which kind of pregnancy back pain is normal and which are not.
