Spicy FoodsDoes your mouth water on the very sight of spick food? If yes then what’s best than to make it right at home where you can control how much chilly and other spices are and where you are not under the constant gaze of the cook who fears whether it’s too spicy or not and you are not constantly watched by numerous people turning red!! But is too much of this stuff good? Does it hamper our taste sensitivity? Having too much of spices and chilies lead to a condition called geographic tongue (genign migratory glossitis). It occurs as a result of an allergy because of reaction to certain foodstuffs. Whether or not it’s actually an allergy is yet not clear, but more than anything the causative agent is spicy stuff that one consumes. The onset is rapid and there are varied patterns on one’s tongue suffering from this condition. Afterwards an exacerbation, one has an altered taste sense till a month. It resolves and is not dangerous, but it is absolutely irritating. Gastritis Acid reflux If the condition is chronic then it can advance to cancer of the esophagus, but its very rare, one in a thousand cases. Having less of such spicy stuff is the best precautionary measure, acid reflux can even lead to teeth erosion if severe but its very rare a possibility. Bad breath Insomnia
