Healthy Snacks

p>We all like snacks no matter if we are surfing the net or picking up groceries or watching a movie we are always munching on something or the other and that’s the truth. So why deny it? Always we have been told that snacking is bad for us. It will ruin our appetite, it will make us heavy, and it will lead to us getting acne and pimples. Some of it is true, while on the added hand, some things are pure baseless thought. Snacking performs an actual important role in our lives. Some times we bite out of bore ness. That 600lbs man didn’t get that way because he was dinning three commons a day. He got that way because he was dinning too huge quantities of food. Our bodies inform if and when we get hungry. That does not quite mean we need to eat whenever we feel hungry. But, if you have an acceptable diet it does. No point in cutting down on all snacks. Snacking is great way to stay off things that are not good for us like we can always have an orange rather than having a glass of coke, and get some good nutrition while we are at it.

 

The key here is, to recognize what to eat and what not to eat. Here we will teach you some snacking tricks that will assist you to eat what is right. It’s easy to get used to and not quite rocket science, but you might be taken by a revelation with some of the suggestions. This sounds a bit strange, but I suggest to you to get a good food dehydrator. They are cheap and not to mention simple to use.

You can dry all kinds of things in your dehydrator. All you need to do is cut things in thin slices as it increases the surface area for drying and quicker they dry. You can dry whatever is cheaply available as there is no limitation as to what you can and what you cannot dry. Try drying any berry lets say strawberries When strawberries are dried they taste sweet and can be had without the worry of extra calories that you might have with sugary candies, and why stop at strawberries you can easily dry almost any fruit and vegetable.

I so like the soup that’s packed but detest the added salt and preservatives, so an easy alternative is to dry all the vegetables and then put in a grinder and you have dried powder that you can have hot water to and your instant soup is ready in minutes.

Here’s one of my tricks I take chips of different fruits and add to them little chocolate syrup and flavored yogurt and viola I have my very own healthy snack without any worry of harmful chemicals or the quality of contents. Also dried vegetables can be had whole too after sprinkling some salt and pepper on them, dry them in bulk and store what you don’t consume in plastic zip pouches.

You can also have jerkies of beef ham and pork if you like buy meat and cut out whatever quantity you want to have this not only saves you money but also gives you the freedom to try out many different combinations and tastes you can have them with dried vegetables if you want.

Try to eat the vegetables that are in season and you can buy fresh from farmers market and not the canned ones, you can even make a salad of veggies add some dried veggies and fruits and season it with various salad dressings to make them taste better by adding acetic acid a.k.a vinegar or squeeze a lemon to add that extra something.

You at all costs need to make sure that you eat healthy and good and not eat a lot of burgers and fries as they are nothing but junk to say the very least.

If you have to have some carbohydrates choose wisely don’t run and hog on a bag of fries or potato chips but try better alternatives like sliced potatoes with some salt and pepper or any seasoning of your choice.

Another healthy idea is to get fruit cakes they sell at Wal-Mart and other such stores, but try to get those which are non sugar coated or have less of syrups, you can also have frozen yogurt instead of having ice-cream as a healthier alternative, the next time you feel like binging something think before you eat analyze are you really hungry and choose the best possible alternative there is and then have healthy snack, choose correct things for like most things on life even in snacks every decision makes a difference.
