Healthy Snack Ideas

You might feel it hard to digest but snacking is not that bad for you as against contrary belief. Don’t be surprised if you a find your physician to recommend you have some of them. They are considered for that punch of energy they provide. One reason for people to consider it bad can be a simple logic of choosing wrong type stuff in snacking. The best approach for such bad snacks, like candy bar or chips, is to have controlled intake, say once a week & having them at the right time. Like chips are best of the options while enjoying your game on TV. Now the question is to what kind of snacks are good to have? Wait; don’t rush your mind to the nearest fast food point nearby for burgers type stuff. This is not the kind that would suit. It’s advised to consider your present diet first. This question is meant for you to emphasize on your present intake of caffeine. If your intake is high then better substitute it with more roughage contained in fruits.

 

Energy bars that you can avail in nearby grocery store are not advisable. You can only consider them to be an option when gymnasium is the place for you but it wouldn’t do with your fingers on keyboard or even at home. It’s just a waste of your money & health. What you can really do is to have some chopped vegetables & a pinch of spices with lemon added. You can also put them in small packets and fill them with cut celery, carrots etc. & your snacks pack is ready for you. Just have some salt handy & see how magical these veggies would taste after that salt takes the water out of the bites.
Keeping wholesome of fruits handy is not a bad option either. Peach, guava or an apple is what we meant by ‘wholesome fruit’. Guava, in particular is my favorite for its less calorie & high mineral content. Canned fruits are not the best of the options while fruit cups can be considered. Make sure that extra sugar is not added to them. Being money-minded can make you follow me to make a fruit cocktail myself rather than using fruit cups.

Take some sliced peaches or your favorite fruit. Add some washed grapes without chopping. Adding some cut pieces of pears can be great. Now is the turn for some banana slices peeled off & apples or kiwis are not unwelcome anytime. It’s all upon your choice of the type of fruit you relish to put in or substitute any of them. Don’t like pears or grapes or anything else? & you are free to take them off the preparation table!

People with the experience of having such stuff from markets must have noticed that sugary syrup in it which is not very healthy and full of calories. You can substitute it with some orange juice in your share that also adds vitamin C to it, thus increasing the nutritive value. It’s not that you ought to add it but people who crave for the taste of that liquid are the ones who can try it. It’ll definitely add that zing for your taste buds.

To get you going all the day long, yogurt is also a good option. Types with low fat are best for obvious reasons but avoid the ones with added fruit that comes with that sugar added & hence increased calorie content of the snack. Flavored or even plain types would do as you can throw in the types of fruits you like. Get plain yogurt or get the vanilla kind. You can throw in whatever fruit that you love. Some individuals like it with strawberries. Food dehydrator is something that will help you with all this, dry your favorites & add the flavor of your own in just anything, be it yogurt. It’s so much lovable that these don’t foul up, as your colleagues would make sure that they are not with you for so long to get spoiled. They’ll become reason enough for you to be on their favorites list, at least for as long as you have them at your desk.

One more thing that can work is to have whole-wheat crackers that are not tanked up with fat. Having them with your favorite juice, be it guava, orange or apple juice, can make your snack time healthy & fun-filled.

Snacking is not that bad & I advise you to try this with the type of snack chosen wisely as what you chose is what makes the difference. Eat healthy, be healthy.
